About the Role

Willows Veterinary Centre is recruiting an Experienced Veterinary Surgeon for its Boldon practice, with occasional cover at South Shields. The role suits a confident vet who has completed VetGDP and is comfortable handling consultations and routine first opinion cases.

You will be supported by a team of 5 vets and 6 RVNs across the two sites, with a varied caseload and opportunities to develop both clinical and surgical skills. The Boldon practice is modern, well equipped, and designed to support a busy but balanced working day.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage consultations and routine first opinion cases at the Boldon practice
• Provide occasional cover at the South Shields site
• Work alongside a team of 5 vets and 6 RVNs across both sites
• Contribute to the delivery of emergency care during opening hours
• Develop clinical and surgical skills within a varied caseload

Requirements

• Experienced Veterinary Surgeon
• VetGDP completed
• Confident managing consultations and routine first opinion work
• Not suitable for new or recent graduates
• Visa sponsorship considered for suitable candidates

Benefits

• Salary up to £65,000 DOE, based on 37.5 hours per week

About the Practice

Willows Veterinary Centre, Boldon Surgery, is a purpose-built practice that opened in 2024. It offers 4 consult rooms, 2 theatres, prep rooms, dental and x-ray suites, and a quiet room.

The practice also has modern diagnostic facilities including digital radiography, ultrasonography, dental radiography, an in house laboratory and laparoscopy equipment. Emergency care is provided during opening hours, with out of hours care covered by Westway Veterinary Hospital in Newcastle. The practice is part of the VetPartners family.
