Mixed Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a genuinely mixed Veterinary Surgeon position across Paisley and Greenock, with work spanning small animal, farm and equine cases. The practice is particularly keen to hear from confident clinicians who enjoy taking ownership of cases, contributing to clinical standards and sharing expertise within a collaborative team.

You would be joining a group that is continuing to grow, with ongoing investment in services and facilities. The role also offers flexibility for the right candidate, including consideration of a farm or equine biased pattern and an alternative shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

• Work across a mixed caseload covering small animal, farm and equine cases.
• Take ownership of cases and contribute to clinical standards.
• Share knowledge and expertise within a collaborative team.
• Support the practice's growing services across both sites.
• Contribute to work linked to ophthalmology referrals, acupuncture, laparoscopic surgery, sonographer clinics, large animal fertility visits, cardiology clinics, and beef and sheep farmer groups.

Requirements

• Experience as a confident clinician is preferred.
• You should be comfortable taking ownership of cases.
• A farm biased or equine biased background would also be considered.
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

About the Practice

The role is with Abbey Veterinary Group Renfrewshire and Inverclyde, part of VetPartners. The practice works across two sites, with refurbishment completed in both Paisley and Greenock.

Paisley now includes two theatres, a large prep area, dedicated dental and x ray suites, five consult rooms, an expanded laboratory, a separate cat waiting area and a dedicated farm animal examination space. Greenock has refurbished wards, kennels, a cattery and isolation facilities.
