Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This Veterinary Surgeon position is based across Nene Vets' Peterborough and Wisbech branches, with full-time preferred at 39 hours per week. The rota includes 9.5 hour working days over four weekdays, 1 in 4 Saturday mornings from 8.30am to 12.30pm, and no OOH or on-call.

The practice is looking for an experienced vet who is confident with both medical and surgical cases and enjoys working as part of a supportive team. There is also scope for additional senior or leadership responsibilities for the right candidate, while part-time applications are also welcome.

The role sits within a friendly, collaborative environment where teamwork, personal wellbeing and professional development are clearly valued. The area also offers the market town setting of Wisbech, with Peterborough 20 miles away and access towards London and the Norfolk coast.

Key Responsibilities

• Work across the Peterborough and Wisbech branches, ideally spending 3 days per week at Peterborough and 1 day at Wisbech, to be discussed.
• Manage a varied caseload involving both medical and surgical cases.
• Contribute to a supportive, team-based approach to patient and client care.
• Take on senior or leadership responsibilities if appointed to a more senior/lead vet position.
• Work Saturday mornings on a 1 in 4 rota, with no OOH or on-call duties.

Requirements

• Experienced Veterinary Surgeon.
• Confident handling both medical and surgical cases.
• Good communicator and team player.
• Flexible and progressive, with a broad-minded approach.
• Enjoys interacting with clients and the wider public.
• Leadership responsibilities are suitable for the right candidate, but are not stated as essential.
