About the Role

Coastway Vets is seeking a confident and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join their thriving small animal practice, splitting time between two well-established branches in Shoreham (2 days per week) and Portslade (2 days per week). This is a full-time role across a 4-day working week with a manageable 1 in 4 Saturday rota. You'll work up and manage your own cases, building lasting client relationships while knowing you have the support of a large, purpose-built hospital in Brighton for complex or emergency cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Work up and manage your own caseload with autonomy
• Deliver high-quality, contextualised care in routine consultations and surgery
• Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and their pets
• Occasionally work as sole charge vet at branch sites
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Shoreham and Portslade teams
• Refer complex, emergency, or hospitalised cases to the Brighton hospital with full clinical support and discussion
• Access and utilise specialist knowledge from certificate holders across the network

Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (BVSc, BVetMed, or equivalent) with RCVS registration
• Confident with routine consultations and surgical procedures
• Comfortable with occasional sole charge responsibilities
• Friendly, approachable, and genuinely client-focused
• Strong communicator and reliable team player
• Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care
• Flexible or part-time arrangements considered for the right candidate

Benefits

• Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience
• Full-time, 40 hours per week (4-day week: 8:00am to 6:00pm)
