About the Role

This is a practice ownership opportunity with Vets for Pets, a network of over 440 locally owned small animal veterinary practices across the UK. You’ll take full clinical and operational control of Vets for Pets Bristol Kingswood, a well-established practice that opened in 2014 and now serves over 3,400 active clients with an outstanding retention rate. The practice has recently been rebranded and is in excellent condition, giving you a thriving business to build on rather than one requiring turnaround work.

Unlike traditional practice ownership, you’ll earn a salary from day one while you develop your vision and grow the business. The financial model is designed to be accessible: solo ownership requires an initial investment of £20,000, or partner with a co-owner for £10,000 each. You’ll have the backing of Vets for Pets’ 12 dedicated support departments covering all aspects of business operations, clinical development, and team management—so you’re never truly on your own.

About the Practice

Vets for Pets Bristol Kingswood is a standalone, fully equipped small animal practice in Kingswood, Bristol. The facility includes four spacious consultation rooms, a dedicated X-ray room, a comfortable office space, separate cat and dog areas, a team breakout space for downtime, and free on-site parking. The practice serves a loyal community and is known for compassionate care and exceptional service.

As part of the Vets for Pets network, you’ll retain complete clinical and operational autonomy whilst accessing group support in areas like HR, Finance, Marketing, Compliance, Clinical Standards, IT, Supply Chain, and Training & Development. This hybrid model gives you independence without isolation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all clinical decision-making and treatment protocols for the practice
• Manage operational and business strategy, including staffing, budgets, and service offerings
• Shape the practice culture and team development to reflect your vision
• Build relationships with the local community and drive client retention
• Work collaboratively with the Vets for Pets support network on growth initiatives
• Maintain clinical and operational standards across the practice

Requirements

• Registered veterinary surgeon with current RCVS registration
• Proven experience in small animal veterinary practice (preferred)
• Experience in practice management or leadership (desirable)
• Financial capacity and willingness to invest in the business (£10,000–£20,000 depending on ownership structure)
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ambition to grow a successful practice
• Strong communication and team management skills
