Head Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

You'll join Chadwell Heath Vets for Pets as Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, leading a welcoming nursing team in a well-established small animal practice. Working 40 hours per week on flexible shifts, with weekends shared 1:3, you'll have the chance to broaden your clinical experience across a diverse range of cases and surgical procedures. The practice is bright, spacious, air-conditioned and purpose-built to industry standards, located on the High Road in Chadwell Heath with excellent local amenities and easy commutability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and guide all members of the nursing team, setting clinical standards and providing mentorship
• Act as a clinical coach, supporting colleagues to develop their skills and knowledge
• Maintain clinical excellence and ensure high standards of patient and client care across the practice
• Keep yourself fully up-to-date with practice services and additional offerings to provide informed guidance to the team
• Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for clients and patients
• Manage a wide range of nursing duties across diverse surgical procedures and clinic types

Requirements

• Current RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Significant experience in veterinary nursing with demonstrable clinical competence
• Confidence in leadership and team management, or proven readiness to lead
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support and guide colleagues
• Highly organised with a passion for clinical standards and patient care
• Calm, attentive approach with genuine focus on client and patient needs
• Ability to handle diverse situations with composure and professionalism
• Willingness to embrace clinical coaching responsibilities
