About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to become a practice owner with Vets for Pets, a franchise-style ownership model designed to make veterinary practice ownership achievable. You'll open and run a brand-new small animal practice in Haverfordwest, a historic market town in the heart of Pembrokeshire surrounded by stunning coastline and countryside. The practice will be located within an existing Pet Care Centre in Springfield Retail Park, ensuring high visibility and immediate access to a stream of potential clients.

As Practice Owner, you'll have complete clinical and operational autonomy. You define your clinical journey, client relationships, and team culture. This is your practice, driven by your ambition and your vision. You'll take a salary from day one, earn 100% of future profits, and benefit from dividends paid twice annually once loans are repaid. You'll also build equity in the practice and benefit from its asset value over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the new practice from opening through growth and maturity
• Manage clinical operations, patient care, and diagnostic work
• Build and manage your team, define practice protocols, and shape team culture
• Develop client relationships and grow your patient base within the local community
• Make all strategic, clinical, and business decisions for the practice with complete autonomy
• Work with Vets for Pets' support teams on recruitment, marketing, IT, HR, and financial management

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon (MRCVS or equivalent)
• Proven experience in veterinary practice management or clinical leadership
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ambition to grow your own business
• Ability to invest £20,000 as sole owner (or share equally with co-owner/s)
• Strong business acumen or willingness to learn with support
• Commitment to building a positive team and client-focused practice culture

The practice will be fully equipped and designed to your specification, including three consult rooms, prep area, theatre, X-ray, pharmacy, laboratory, separate cat and dog wards, isolation ward, office, and reception.
