Join a thriving standalone practice in beautiful Cheshire with genuine work-life balance: no OOH, no Sundays, and Saturday mornings only on a relaxed 1:6 rota. This is the supportive team environment RVNs dream of.
No out-of-hours cover required. Saturday mornings only (9am to 12pm) on 1:6 rota. No Sunday working.
This full-time role offers something increasingly rare in veterinary practice: a sustainable work-life balance with no out-of-hours cover or Sunday working. You'll work a standard 40-hour week across early and late shifts (8:30am to 7pm), with Saturday mornings only (9am to 12pm) on a manageable 1:6 rota. The practice is flexible about shift patterns, so if you have specific scheduling needs, they're open to discussion.
Based in Alsager, a beautiful market town in Cheshire surrounded by countryside and the Peak District, the practice is just an hour south of Manchester City Centre and benefits from excellent transport links including the M6 (under 15 minutes away) and local bus and train services. The standalone surgery sits on the main street in a light, spacious setting equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, blood pressure measurement, and in-house laboratory facilities.
This independently owned small animal practice is run by Carl, an experienced RVN who qualified in 1995 with a specialist interest in wound management, radiography, and surgical work. The practice is known for its supportive, collegial culture and commitment to clinical excellence. It has been recognised as a certified Autism Friendly Surgery, reflecting its values of inclusivity for both team members and clients.
The practice values diversity and encourages applications from people of all backgrounds. The team regularly organises social events to strengthen team spirit, and the owner's hands-on approach ensures quick decision-making and strong clinical support for all staff.
