Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

You'll be joining a friendly, dynamic small animal team at Doncaster Vets for Pets, where nurses are valued as clinical professionals at the heart of patient care. This full-time or part-time position includes a 1-in-4 Saturday rota and offers the chance to use your nursing skills across patient care, theatre work, and nurse-led clinics in a spacious, modern practice.

The practice is excellently located close to the A1, M1 and M18, just a 10-minute walk from Doncaster town centre. You'll be part of a well-established team of 3 vets, 4 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 1 VCA, and 5 CCAs, supported by a dedicated client care team that frees nurses to focus on clinical work.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care across medical and surgical cases, including pre and post-operative support
• Lead and manage nurse consults and perform Schedule 3 procedures as an RVN
• Deliver theatre nursing and assist with surgical procedures
• Contribute to the daily running of the practice, maintaining high standards of care for patients and clients
• Support training of student nurses as part of a Practice Standards approved training practice
• Lead by example and demonstrate excellent communication and organisation skills

Requirements

• Current RVN registration
• Comfortable with all aspects of nursing care in a general small animal practice
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work to high standards and lead by example
• Willingness to work 1-in-4 Saturdays (flexible arrangements considered)

Doncaster Vets for Pets is a modern, spacious practice with excellent facilities including dedicated dental suite with dental X-ray, in-house laboratory, ultrasound, ECG, and X-ray equipment. The practice is Practice Standards approved and actively trains student nurses, creating a supportive clinical environment where nurses can fulfil their full clinical potential.
