This is a full-time permanent position with a team-focused practice in the charming market town of Hertford. You'll enjoy genuine flexibility with no out-of-hours shifts, no Sunday working, and just one Saturday morning per month (9am-1pm) with time off in lieu or additional pay. Weekday shifts run 8:45am to 5:15pm or 10:45am to 7:15pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.
You'll be at the heart of clinical care, actively involved across anaesthesia, inpatient care, nurse consultations, laboratory work, and theatre. The practice prioritises high-quality care with extended consultation times and regular visiting specialists in cardiology, diagnostic imaging, and orthopaedics, giving you excellent learning opportunities.
Hertford Vets for Pets is a small, purpose-built clinic in a loyal, engaged community. The practice comprises 2 vets, a head nurse, and a small non-clinical team, creating a warm, collaborative environment where everyone plays a meaningful role. The well-equipped facility includes separate cat and dog wards, an isolation unit with sterile theatre, digital X-ray and ultrasound, in-house laboratory with microscope, and capnography with pulse oximetry. Non-routine consultations are allocated 30 minutes, and the practice regularly works with visiting specialists to enhance clinical learning.
