Shared weekend on-call on 1:5 rota
This is a part-time opportunity at Vets4Pets Newton Abbot, nestled between Dartmoor and the coast in South Devon. You'll work 18 hours per week across fixed shifts: Monday 9am to 5pm and Friday 10am to 7pm, with weekend on-call sharing on a 1:5 rota. Whether you're newly qualified or well-established in your career, the team welcomes both.
You'll be part of a dynamic first opinion surgery where no two days are the same. The clinical team comprises 5 vets, 5 RVNs, and 2 VCAs, supported by 6 client care advisors. This structure allows you to focus fully on clinical nursing rather than reception duties, making the most of your training and expertise.
Vets4Pets Newton Abbot is part of the larger Vets for Pets group. The practice is fully equipped with in-house laboratory equipment, dental x-ray facilities, multi-parameter monitors, and digital radiography. Patient facilities include separate cat and dog wards plus an isolation unit for optimal infection control. The practice holds a Silver ISFM Cat Friendly award and maintains RCVS Practice Standards accreditation.
The team culture emphasises supportive, collaborative nursing where clinical skills are valued and professional development is actively encouraged. With 5 vets and 5 RVNs, there's strength in numbers and plenty of scope to learn from experienced colleagues.
