About the Role

You'll be joining Whetstone Vets for Pets at an exciting moment, playing a key role in developing a newly opened first-opinion practice. This is a daytime-only position with no out-of-hours requirements, working Monday to Friday 9am-7pm and Saturday mornings on a 1-in-2 rota. The practice is open to both full-time and part-time applications and welcomes discussions about flexible working patterns.

The surgery has been thoughtfully designed with modern facilities including digital radiography, a dedicated operating theatre, separate dog and cat wards, and an isolation ward. You'll work alongside a supportive and forward-thinking team committed to collaboration, positivity and mutual support.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding patient and client care in a progressive first-opinion environment
• Utilise and develop your nursing skills across all aspects of the RVN role
• Support the practice owner's particular interests in cat-friendly practice, soft tissue surgery, and brachycephalic airway syndrome
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in a practice committed to high clinical standards
• Contribute to the development and growth of a newly established practice

Requirements

• Full RVN registration with the RCVS
• Confident and motivated approach to nursing work
• Team player with a proactive attitude
• Passion for high clinical standards and patient care
• Comfort working across all aspects of the RVN role
• Experience as a Clinical Coach or interest in becoming one is advantageous but not essential

About the Practice

Whetstone Vets for Pets is a brand-new first-opinion practice that opened its doors in Summer 2025. It is part of Vets for Pets, which operates under the Pets at Home group. The practice owner, Shweta Nakrani, graduated from The University of Liverpool in 2011 and is currently studying towards a Certificate in Veterinary Consulting. Shweta has particular clinical interests in cat-friendly practice, soft tissue surgery, and brachycephalic airway syndrome, and is building a team that thrives on collaboration and mutual support.

Located in the London Borough of Barnet, Whetstone offers excellent transport links into Central London, easy access to the A1 and M25, and a balance of city convenience with suburban charm, including green spaces, cafés, restaurants and local amenities.
