Ready to step up as a Senior Vet in a thriving, supportive practice where mentoring and innovation are valued? Southport Vets for Pets offers flexible hours, no OOH, and the chance to shape clinical direction with a genuine team behind you.
1:4 weekend rota only, no out-of-hours cover required
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon to step into a senior position within a growing, forward-thinking practice. Southport Vets for Pets has built a thriving caseload of over 6,000 clients since opening in February 2017, and they're looking for a confident, ambitious vet to help shape the future of clinical care. You'll mentor junior team members, contribute your own ideas, and follow your academic interests in a supportive environment that genuinely values professional development.
Based in a bright, purpose-built surgery right on the plaza, you'll enjoy a lovely commute with beach breaks just moments away. The role is flexible: full-time (40 hours per week), part-time, or even weekends only if that suits your lifestyle. Best of all, there's no out-of-hours cover, and weekends are shared on a 1:4 rota.
Southport Vets for Pets opened in February 2017 and is independently run by Christine and Robyn with a committed local team. The purpose-built, air-conditioned surgery is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and offers a steady flow of diverse cases. The practice is part of Vets for Pets, one of the UK's largest veterinary groups with over 440 small animal practices, yet maintains its local independence and commitment to community care.
The team comprises three veterinary surgeons, three Registered Veterinary Nurses, three Veterinary Care Assistants, a Practice Manager, and four reception staff. The culture is supportive and inclusive, with a genuine emphasis on staff well-being and professional pride. The practice openly welcomes diverse backgrounds and perspectives, encouraging everyone to bring their authentic selves to work.
