Veterinary Accounts Administrator

About the Role

This is a key financial position at Leeds Birstall Vets for Pets 24/7 Hospital, where you'll ensure all financial processes run smoothly and accurately. Working full time (40 hours per week) in a busy, fast-paced environment, you'll be the backbone of the practice's financial operations, supporting both management and clinical teams to deliver outstanding client care.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily banking, petty cash management, and payment reconciliation
• Managing client accounts, debt control, and responding to financial queries
• Processing insurance claims (direct and indirect) within required timeframes
• Monitoring pre-authorisation and direct claim payments
• Updating and maintaining financial spreadsheets and debt reports
• Chasing outstanding payments and invoices
• Processing and allocating direct credits
• Supporting care plan queries, cancellations, and related finance tasks
• Handling finance-related emails and correspondence
• Maintaining accurate financial records in line with practice procedures

Requirements

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts administration role (essential)
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Confident using spreadsheets and practice management systems
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Experience in a veterinary, healthcare, or service-based environment (desirable but not essential)
