Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week at the Bristol Imperial practice, with some weekend work required. You'll be the key link between clients and the clinical team, greeting pet owners warmly and creating positive experiences that keep them coming back. Every day is busy, but that's what makes this role rewarding: you're constantly helping people and their pets navigate their veterinary journey, from a puppy's first visit to supporting clients during difficult times.

Your computer skills will be put to good use managing the online booking system and coordinating the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. You'll handle payments, book appointments, and ensure clients always leave feeling confident, supported, and valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service, acting as the first point of contact for clients and their pets
• Build strong, positive relationships with clients, their pets, and colleagues
• Greet clients warmly and offer clear guidance about practice services
• Manage payments and book future appointments with confidence
• Coordinate day-to-day practice operations using the online booking system
• Support clients emotionally during difficult times and celebrate positive moments
• Contribute to a welcoming and friendly practice environment

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist or in a similar customer-facing role
• Friendly, approachable manner and genuine passion for customer service and animal welfare
• Calm, attentive, and focused on meeting client needs with care and professionalism
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with social media
• Emotional resilience and ability to handle a variety of client situations
• Enthusiasm, drive, and a positive attitude that contributes to team morale
