About the Role

This is a part-time opportunity (20–30 hours per week) at a thriving small animal practice experiencing exciting growth in caseload and clinical complexity. You’ll work alongside an experienced, supportive team who collaborate openly and invest in each other’s development. The practice welcomes visiting specialists in orthopaedics and cardiology, giving you exposure to advanced case management and the chance to deepen your own clinical interests—whether you’re exploring new areas or building on existing expertise.

Bangor itself is a vibrant waterfront city with stunning natural surroundings: the historic Bangor Cathedral, Snowdonia National Park, and beautiful coastal beaches are all on your doorstep. The practice is conveniently located in Menai Retail Park with free parking and easy access to Chester, Liverpool, and Manchester for days out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver first opinion small animal care across a broad range of medical and surgical cases
  • Work collaboratively with an experienced nursing team (20+ years combined expertise in first opinion and emergency care)
  • Contribute to the practice’s continued development of specialist capabilities and advanced care delivery
  • Participate in shared weekend rota duties, fairly distributed across the veterinary team
  • Engage with CPD opportunities and clinical development initiatives

Requirements

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with small animal general practice experience
  • Confident clinical skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Additional qualifications or specialist interests welcomed but not required
