Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This part-time Veterinary Surgeon position is based at Bristol Imperial Vets for Pets and offers 29.9 hours per week across Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with a 1 in 5 weekend rota. The role also has no out-of-hours, making it a well-structured opportunity for someone who wants to stay hands-on while keeping a clear working pattern.

The practice is described as friendly, supportive and well established, with colleagues who have been there since it first opened almost 10 years ago. You will be joining an independently run, locally owned team with a varied caseload, close support from a nearby referral service, and clinical interests already in the team across surgery, dentistry, feline medicine and imaging.

The practice is also an ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Clinic with aspirations to reach Gold, and it holds a RAW Silver Rabbit Friendly award. It is an approved Veterinary Nurse Training Practice and is presented as a thriving small animal GP practice with the facilities and equipment you'd expect in that setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care as an all-round Veterinary Surgeon in a small animal GP setting.
• Work confidently with a varied caseload that includes cats, dogs, rabbits and small furries.
• Build strong relationships with clients as part of day-to-day consulting and case work.
• Contribute to a collaborative team alongside vets, nurses and non-clinical colleagues.
• Handle everyday small animal medicine and surgery, with support from a nearby referral service for more complex cases.

Requirements

• You should be a Veterinary Surgeon.
• A particular interest in rabbits and other small animals is preferred.
• Confidence across everyday small animal medicine and surgery is ideal.
• Strong communication skills are needed.
• You should enjoy working collaboratively and being part of a supportive team.

Benefits

• £45,000 to £55,000 FTE, depending on experience.
