About the Role

This is your chance to join Filton Vets for Pets, a well-established small animal practice that’s invested heavily in its team and facilities. You’ll be working alongside 7 other vets and a wider team of 25 colleagues in a genuinely collaborative environment. The practice has recently undergone expansion and refurbishment, creating modern working spaces, purpose-built operating theatres, dental facilities, and a dedicated colleague room—all designed to make your working day better.

This is a balanced small animal role with flexibility built in. Whether you prefer a mix of surgery and medicine, want to focus on consults only, or lean toward surgical cases, the practice can accommodate your preferences. Based in Filton on the outskirts of Bristol, you’re minutes from the train station and have quick access to major transport links (M32, M4, M5), making commuting straightforward whether you’re local or further afield.

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon (MRCVS or equivalent)
  • Ideally 3+ years of GP experience
  • Strong communication skills and solid medical and surgical foundation
  • Proactive approach and collaborative mindset

  • Professional memberships: Paid in full
  • Life assurance: 4× annual salary
  • Out-of-hours: None required
  • Cycle to work scheme

About the Practice

Filton Vets for Pets has been locally owned and operated by Michael Parry since 2003. The practice recently underwent significant expansion and refurbishment, creating a modern, welcoming environment for both team and patients. You’ll find purpose-built operating theatres, a dedicated dental theatre, multiple prep rooms and wards, and excellent diagnostic equipment—everything you’d expect from a thriving GP practice committed to high standards of care.

The team is notably inclusive and diverse. The practice manager, Karen, is a trained Mental Health First Aider, and the whole team is committed to celebrating difference and creating a workplace where colleagues can be themselves. With 8 vets, a Head Nurse, nursing team, students, care assistants, and non-clinical support, you’ll never feel isolated—but you will feel valued.
