This is a part-time veterinary surgeon position with flexibility on hours to suit the right candidate. You'll join Vets for Pets Bury St Edmunds, a bright, purpose-built practice offering 20-minute standard consultations and a diverse caseload spanning small animal medicine and surgery, exotics, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, and cardiology. The practice operates with no out-of-hours duties beyond a 1-in-4 Saturday rota (9am to 6pm), making this ideal if you're seeking better work-life balance without sacrificing clinical variety.
The team consists of two senior vets: Vanessa (postgraduate qualification in Small Furries) and Ana (finishing her Ophthalmology certificate), who are actively invested in supporting your professional development and interests. Peripatetic services from orthopaedic and cardiology certificate holders mean you'll encounter a genuinely varied day-to-day caseload. The nursing team is strong too, with three full-time and one part-time RVN, plus experienced VCAs and reception staff.
The practice is equipped to leading industry standards: digital x-ray, upgraded ultrasound, full IDEXX laboratory, multi-parameter monitoring, tonometer, blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximetry, v-gel, and separate dog, cat, and isolation wards. Acupuncture and basic physiotherapy are also offered in-house.
