Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with Saturday shifts (9am to 6pm), but importantly, no overnight or Sunday hours. You'll be joining Corby Vets4Pets at a pivotal moment: the practice was founded by Nancy, who became Practice Owner in July 2024 and is now leading an exciting relaunch and rebrand. The practice sits in Corby, Northamptonshire, just a 5-minute drive from beautiful countryside and country parks, ideal for balancing a busy surgery schedule with outdoor time.

This is a fast-paced, busy practice, but one where the team genuinely has each other's backs. You'll work alongside 2 vets, 4 qualified RVNs (including Nancy), a student veterinary nurse about to qualify, a VCA, and 4 receptionists. The practice prides itself on a family-like atmosphere where management listens without judgement, supports your goals, and has zero tolerance for toxicity.

For the right candidate, there's scope to work closely with Nancy to help shape clinical protocols, standards of care, and contribute to building and mentoring the team as the practice grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality veterinary care to a loyal and varied small animal caseload
• Conduct consultations, diagnostics, treatment planning, and routine surgery independently
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture
• Mentor junior team members where appropriate
• Help shape clinical protocols and standards of care alongside the Practice Owner

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon with RCVS registration
• Minimum 2 to 3 years' post-qualification experience
• Comfortable handling consultations, diagnostics, and routine surgery independently
• Strong communication skills and passion for high standards of patient and client care
• Proactive approach to contributing to practice growth and development
• Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team environment
