About the Role

You’ll be joining a purpose-built Vets for Pets practice opening in March 2026 at Wren Nest Retail Park in Glossop. This is a rare opportunity to be involved from the very beginning, helping to shape how the practice operates and its clinical standards—all while enjoying a part-time, flexible arrangement with no out-of-hours commitments. This is genuinely about fitting work around your life, not the other way around.

The role includes some Saturday daytime working, but the focus throughout is on work-life balance and giving you the autonomy to work cases properly without the pressure of a hectic rota. Glossop’s location on the edge of the Peak District means you’ll have easy access to nature and outdoor space, while remaining well-connected to both Manchester and Sheffield.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver routine small animal medical and surgical care with time to develop cases thoroughly
• Contribute to establishing clinical protocols and ways of working in the new practice
• Build relationships with the local community and help foster a collaborative, supportive team culture
• Provide occasional sole-charge cover when needed
• Support the practice leadership team (both experienced Practice Owners) in delivering excellent clinical standards

Requirements

• RCVS registration
• Proven experience in small animal practice
• Confidence with routine medical and surgical cases
• Comfortable with occasional sole-charge working
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills

About the Practice

Vets for Pets’ newly built Glossop practice is housed within a modern Pets at Home store, featuring a bright, spacious air-conditioned environment with purpose-built clinical areas and state-of-the-art equipment. The practice has been designed with both efficiency and staff wellbeing in mind. The leadership team comprises Ibrahim (Veterinary Surgeon, qualified 2001) and Leanne (over 25 years’ nursing experience), both focused on creating a workplace where people feel supported, valued, and genuinely excited to come to work.
