You'll be joining Vets for Pets at an exciting moment. The practice has recently relocated to a larger site and is expanding its clinical team. This is a small animal role offering a varied caseload in a stable, supportive environment. The team includes 4 full-time and 1 part-time veterinary surgeon, plus 9 RVNs and 1 SVN, so you'll never work in isolation.
The role is Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm, plus Saturday mornings 8:30am to 12pm on a 1 in 4 rota. Crucially, there is no OOH or Sunday work. Full-time is the ideal fit, but part-time and flexible working options are actively discussed at interview. Two contract types are currently available: a 12-month fixed-term role covering maternity leave (consult-only considered), and a permanent full-time position due to practice growth.
Based in Durham (postcode DH1 5GB), the practice benefits from the city's cathedral and castle setting, offering a blend of urban practice and quality-of-life appeal. The team has exceptionally low staff turnover, reflecting the supportive culture. The practice is expanding following its recent move to a larger facility, creating opportunities to diversify the caseload and develop specialist interests.
