Plymouth Vets for Pets is a newly taken-over practice in the heart of the city, led by practice owner Jo Manby (who successfully established Plymouth Woolwell Vets for Pets in 2015) and Head Nurse Sam Job. This is a full-time permanent position, though flexible arrangements can be discussed. The role includes just 1 in 3 or 4 Saturday mornings from 9am to 3pm, with absolutely no out-of-hours commitments.
You'll be joining at an exciting time of growth and investment. The practice is nestled on the South Devon Coast, offering not just rewarding veterinary work but also access to outstanding beaches, Dartmoor walks, and the vibrant Barbican culture of Plymouth itself.
Plymouth Vets for Pets is a purpose-built small animal practice located centrally on Exeter Street in Plymouth. The facility includes 4 consulting rooms, a fully equipped operating theatre, central preparation room, and separate cat and dog wards. The practice is actively investing in state-of-the-art equipment, starting with ultrasound and dental x-ray facilities, and is working towards silver cat and rabbit accreditation.
The team is led by owner Jo Manby, who qualified from Bristol in 2010 and holds an ESVPS General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery, a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice, and is completing an exotics certificate. Head Nurse Sam Job brings extensive managerial and nursing leadership experience, with a strong focus on developing and nurturing the team. The practice operates on a philosophy of supportive, collaborative working where professional development is genuinely prioritized.
