Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This part-time veterinary surgeon position offers exceptional work-life balance with just one in three Saturday shifts (sole charge), no Sundays, and no out-of-hours commitments. You'll be joining a well-established, busy small animal practice in the vibrant coastal town of Weston-super-Mare, just five minutes' walk from the train station and a short drive from Bristol.

The practice is thoughtfully designed for rewarding clinical work, equipped to a high standard with three consultation rooms, a dedicated colleague room, kitchen, and separate office space. You'll support a varied and engaged community client base with a broad small animal caseload including dogs, cats, rabbits, and small furries.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-opinion small animal veterinary care across medicine and surgery
• Manage consultations and clinical cases with a varied small animal caseload
• Build and maintain strong relationships with patients and clients
• Contribute to the collaborative, supportive team environment with regular practice and clinical meetings
• Work sole charge on allocated Saturday duties

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon with broad general practice experience
• Strong clinical skills across everyday small animal medicine and surgery
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team
• Personable and approachable approach to client care

About the Practice

Vets for Pets Weston-super-Mare is a family-run, close-knit practice with many years of combined experience. The practice owners, both with over 20 years' experience, are on site daily and have built a supportive, collaborative working environment. The team includes experienced nurses and non-clinical colleagues who actively support one another.

Located in an attractive coastal town with excellent local amenities and transport links, the practice is positioned just off the M5 motorway and offers easy access to Bristol and wider opportunities.
