Receptionist – Part Time

About the Role

This is a part-time receptionist position at Vets Now Bath, the UK’s leading emergency pet care provider. You’ll be working a rotating pattern (Week 1: Friday 19:00–00:00, Saturday 12:00–22:00, Sunday 19:00–00:00; Week 2: off) in a fast-paced emergency clinic environment where every call and client interaction matters. You’ll be the first reassuring presence clients encounter during stressful moments, helping to guide them through their pet’s emergency care journey.

The role combines front-of-house client care with essential administrative support. You’ll work alongside a dedicated emergency team of veterinary surgeons and nurses who are committed to delivering compassionate care 24/7. Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for clients arriving at the clinic or calling with emergencies, offering a friendly and reassuring presence during stressful situations
• Answer calls promptly, book appointments, and manage the flow of emergency and non-emergency enquiries
• Process financial transactions accurately and handle payments from clients
• Provide veterinary staff with updates on incoming patients and clients requiring assistance
• Manage administrative duties to ensure smooth clinic operations
• Act as a professional liaison between anxious clients and the clinical team

Requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to remain calm and professional with stressed clients
• Reliable and flexible, able to commit to the scheduled shift pattern
• Competent with administrative tasks and financial transactions
• No specific veterinary experience required – enthusiasm and compassion are what matter most
