About the Role

Join Vets Now's nursing team as a Registered Veterinary Nurse on a Sunday roster. This part-time position offers the flexibility to develop genuine emergency and critical care expertise while maintaining balance in your professional life. You'll work every other Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00, giving you predictable time off in between shifts. Vets Now operates over 60 out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals across the UK, making it the leading provider of emergency pet care serving 1700+ veterinary practices.

The nursing team sits at the heart of clinical treatment. Your role will encompass triage, surgical support, anaesthesia assistance, and in-patient care across a broad ECC caseload. Whether you're triaging emergencies over the phone, managing critical cases on the ward, or performing diagnostics independently, you'll gain exposure to the full spectrum of emergency nursing.

Key Responsibilities

• First aid assessment and advice, delivered both by telephone and in clinic
• Critical care nursing: management and monitoring of major body systems, in-patient trend analysis, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care
• Diagnostic procedures performed with confidence in a sole charge capacity
• Support surgical and anaesthetic procedures as part of the multidisciplinary team

Requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months
• Commitment to maintaining high clinic standards
• Genuine passion for animal care and client communication
• Experience with emergency and critical care caseloads is advantageous but not essential
