🕐 Schedule & Rota

Dedicated out-of-hours/emergency role. 4-week rolling rota: Week 1 Sunday night (18:00–09:00); Week 2 Wednesday & Thursday nights (18:00–09:00) + Saturday day (12:00–18:30); Week 3 Saturday day (12:00–18:30) + Sunday day (08:30–18:30); Week 4 Monday & Tuesday nights (18:00–09:00). Typical 1:2 weekend commitment; flexibility negotiable.

About the Role

This is a part-time emergency veterinary position at Vets Now Salisbury, where you’ll encounter the varied and challenging cases that set emergency practice apart. Working on a rolling 4-week rota of weeknight and weekend shifts, you’ll have genuine flexibility to shape your commitment—the team works around your lifestyle and clinic requirements, with a typical 1:2 weekend commitment.

The role combines immediate clinical impact with serious investment in your development. You’ll work shifts across night cover (18:00–09:00) and day work (08:30–18:30), gaining exposure to a breadth of emergency and critical care cases that sharpen your diagnostic and technical skills rapidly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver emergency veterinary care to presenting patients, working as part of Vets Now Salisbury’s skilled ECC team
  • Manage a range of acute presentations, from trauma and acute illness to surgical emergencies
  • Contribute to high-standard clinical practice and patient safety protocols
  • Engage actively in continuous professional development and case-based learning
  • Participate in the AdvantEdge induction programme if you’re new to emergency practice (1 week hands-on training + 20 hours flexible e-learning)

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon (RCVS registered)
  • Genuine interest in emergency and critical care medicine
  • Ability to work flexibly across night and day shifts
  • Strong clinical communication and team working skills
  • No specific emergency experience required—AdvantEdge support available for those transitioning into ECC
