Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This part-time Veterinary Receptionist position is based at Vets Now Milton Keynes and comes with a rate of £14.00 per hour plus benefits. The role sits at the front line of an emergency pet care service, where you'll welcome clients, answer calls, book appointments and handle financial transactions.

The rota follows one of two four-week patterns. In both, the shifts include 19:00 to 00:00 on weeknights, plus Saturday from 12:00 to 19:00 and Sunday from 09:00 to 19:00, with a fair share of bank holidays. One rota starts in week one and the other starts in week three.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for clients arriving in person or contacting the clinic by phone during emergency situations.
• Welcome clients, answer calls, book appointments and process financial transactions.
• Carry out administrative duties accurately to help the clinic run smoothly.
• Pass updates to veterinary staff about incoming patients or clients who need support.
• Provide a friendly, reassuring presence and help clients communicate with veterinary professionals.

Requirements

• Experience in a reception or client-facing role is implied by the position, but no formal qualifications are stated.
• Comfort handling calls, bookings, payments and clinic administration.
• Ability to work the stated evening, weekend and bank holiday rota.
• A calm and supportive approach when dealing with clients in emergency situations.
