Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This part-time Veterinary Receptionist role is based in emergency care, supporting clients who need help during some of their most stressful moments. The position pays £13.45 per hour plus benefits and follows a rota that includes evenings, weekends and a fair share of bank holidays.

The proposed pattern covers four weeks, with Saturday and Sunday shifts in Week 1, a Thursday evening shift in Week 2, another Saturday and Sunday rotation in Week 3, and a Thursday evening shift in Week 4. Some flexibility with shifts will be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for clients arriving in person or calling during emergency situations.
• Greet clients, answer calls and book appointments.
• Handle financial transactions accurately.
• Manage administrative duties in clinic to help keep the service running smoothly.
• Share updates with veterinary staff about patients on their way in or clients who need assistance.
• Offer friendly reassurance and act as a link between clients and veterinary professionals.

Requirements

• Availability for a part-time rota covering evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Some flexibility over shifts.
• A calm, supportive manner when dealing with clients in emergency situations.

This role is based within the PDSA Pet Wellbeing Centre on Radford Road in Nottingham, where the team supports emergency clients and veterinary staff in a fast-moving clinical environment.
