Veterinary Surgeon - Weekend

About the Role

At Vets Now Bath, you'll be part of a weekend Veterinary Surgeon role that offers a varied caseload and plenty of scope to build emergency and critical care experience. The rota runs over 8 weeks and includes a fair share of bank holidays, with shifts that can place you alongside a supportive team of Nurses, Receptionists and Animal Care Assistants.

Backshifts often see you working as the second Vet on shift, giving you the chance to share knowledge and tackle more complex cases together. Bath also brings historical, cultural and outdoor attractions, making it a location that offers more than just the clinical work.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver weekend veterinary care in an emergency and critical care setting at Vets Now Bath.
• Manage an interesting and varied caseload across the weekend rota.
• Work alongside Nurses, Receptionists and Animal Care Assistants as part of the wider clinical team.
• Support more complex cases during backshifts, often as the second Vet on shift.
• Cover weekend shifts across the 8-week rolling rota, including a fair share of bank holidays.

Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon.
• Interest in or desire to develop ECC experience.
• Suitable for vets working a second job or those looking to broaden emergency and critical care skills.
• Clinical experience is expected, with Vets Now noting that graduate routes are not direct from university.
