Weekend Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This Weekend Veterinary Nurse role in Belfast is built around emergency and critical care work, with shifts across Week 1, Week 2, Week 3 and Week 4, plus a fair share of bank holidays. The rota includes Saturday and Sunday daytime cover as well as overnight shifts from 19:00 to 09:00.

It is a good fit if you want to deepen your ECC experience while balancing other commitments or earning a second income. You will be part of a nursing team working across triage, surgery, anaesthesia and in-patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice over the phone and deliver first aid in clinic.
• Support critical care through monitoring major body systems and tracking in-patient trends.
• Spot clinical changes quickly and respond appropriately.
• Carry out physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care and dressing care.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures with sole charge responsibility when required.

Requirements

• RCVS registration for a minimum of six months.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
• A motivated approach to maintaining high clinic standards.
• A genuine commitment to caring for clients and their pets.
