Weekend Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This Weekend Veterinary Nurse position is based in Milton Keynes and offers every other weekend working, with shifts on Saturday from 12:00 to 19:00 and Sunday from 09:00 to 21:00, plus a fair share of bank holidays. It is a good fit if you want to develop ECC knowledge while balancing other commitments.

The role sits within emergency pet care, so your work will cover triage, treatment, anaesthesia and inpatient support. You will also be confident handling basic diagnostics in a sole charge capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice over the phone and deliver first aid in clinic.
• Support critical care through monitoring major body systems and tracking inpatient trends.
• Identify changes quickly and contribute to physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care and dressing care.
• Carry out basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.
• Work as part of the nursing team supporting triage, surgery, anaesthesia and inpatient care.

Requirements

• RCVS registration for a minimum of six months.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
• A positive approach to maintaining clinic standards.
• A strong interest in caring for clients and their pets.
