You will join an established small animal practice in Chester at an exciting time, with a genuinely flexible rota and working week tailored to your needs. This full or part-time role includes no overnight on-call commitments and only 1 in 2 Saturday mornings (aiming for 1 in 3 from 2026), giving you real work-life balance. The practice leverages new AI technology to streamline workflows and create a calmer environment, with heavily managed diaries ensuring you get protected lunch breaks and leave on time.
Chester itself offers the best of both worlds: a vibrant historical city centre with Roman walls and two-tier shopping streets, surrounded by beautiful countryside. The practice is conveniently located on the city's northern outskirts with excellent local transport access, and sits less than an hour from both Liverpool and Manchester.
Chester Vets4Pets is a well-established small animal practice led by a supportive management team with seven vets, five RVNs, two SVNs, and three receptionists. The team shares diverse clinical interests and delivers proactive, high-quality care to a varied caseload with a high proportion of insured, engaged clients. The practice prides itself on a genuinely warm culture: staff regularly socialise through sporting events, charity fundraisers, dog walks, escape rooms, and social gatherings, creating a close-knit team ethos.
As part of Vets4Pets (a Pets at Home group), the practice benefits from corporate support and resources while maintaining its independent, community-focused identity. The team is committed to diversity, inclusion, and creating a workplace where all staff can be their best selves.
