A 35-hour week spread across just three weekdays, plus a 1 in 4 weekend rota, makes this a strong fit if you want your clinical work to sit alongside real time away from the practice. Biggleswade Vets for Pets is offering up to £70,000 FTE DOE, with flexibility around full-time or part-time hours.
Biggleswade Vets for Pets is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and supportive team. The role is built around flexibility, with full-time, part-time and blended working patterns all open for discussion.
The ideal rota is around 35 hours per week, worked over three weekdays, plus a 1 in 4 weekend rota. Consults are 20 minutes, with dedicated time set aside for lunch and administrative catch-up, so the day is structured to support good patient care without feeling rushed.
You’ll be joining a team that includes Sarah, the Lead Vet, Karen, the Graduate Vet, Emma, a full-time Veterinary Surgeon currently on maternity leave, and a nursing team that includes five RVNs and one VCA. The practice also encourages nurses to take on more Schedule 3 procedures, which helps create a more collaborative way of working.
Biggleswade Vets for Pets is a Cat Friendly Practice with three consultation rooms, a dedicated prep area, separate isolation and kennels, plus an office and kitchen for the team. The practice also has digital X-ray, ultrasound, tonometry and K-Laser.
The team is described as stable, knowledgeable and welcoming, with returning locum vets regularly choosing to work there again. Practice Owner Sarah is an RVN with more than 20 years of experience in veterinary practice and has been with Biggleswade since the practice first opened in 2015.
