About the Role

Virtue Vets is recruiting ambitious, entrepreneurial Registered Veterinary Nurses at all levels for its new, contemporary clinics in London. This is a full-time, permanent position (5 days x 8 hours per week) with weekend work on a 1 in 3 rota. The clinic is open 09:00 to 18:00 daily across seven days, giving you the chance to work with a handpicked, clinically competent team of three vets and a similar number of nurses per site. Staff satisfaction stands at 8.2 out of 10, with an eNPS score of 50 (versus the industry benchmark of minus 50), reflecting a genuinely supportive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver core nursing care including patient assessment, monitoring, anaesthesia support, IV skills, medication administration and surgical nursing
• Perform diagnostic procedures, wound care, bandaging and fracture support under clinical direction
• Provide nutritional support including assisted feeding and tube feeding (nasogastric, oesophageal)
• Manage emergency and critical care cases with confidence and competence
• Lead mentorship and training of junior nurses, demonstrating key procedures and supervising less experienced staff
• Delegate daily nursing tasks under direction of the Head Nurse or Lead Vet
• Provide post-operative discharge advice, inpatient updates and client education on nutrition and medication administration
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure legal compliance with NMC-style protocols
• Assist with stock checks, ordering and rotation of consumables and pharmacy inventory
• Support practice standards compliance, including RCVS audits and clinical protocols
• Demonstrate passion for client education around treatment options and preventative care

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Proven clinical competency in core nursing skills (patient assessment, anaesthesia support, IV administration, surgical nursing)
• Entrepreneurial mindset: self-starter with willingness to work differently and embrace rapid change
• Personable and excellent with people, both colleagues and clients
• Passion for structured clinical protocols and continuous improvement
• Ability to support junior nurses and contribute constructively to team problem-solving
• Positive, cheerful attitude with no gossiping or behind-the-scenes complaining
• Flexibility and comfort with change in a dynamic, growing practice
• Eligible to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)

• Competitive salary: £30,000 to £33,000 for RVNs (0-3 years); £33,000 to £37,000 for Senior VNs (3-6 years); £37,000+ for Head VNs (6+ years)

Virtue Vets operates stylish, contemporary clinics across London, purpose-built with state-of-the-art diagnostic, surgical and laboratory equipment. Each site features three consultation rooms (including a dedicated feline consult), an open-plan prep area, dedicated imaging suite, dental suite and sterile surgical theatre, plus a team room.

Clinical equipment includes a 2m digital static X-ray, Vetus 50 ultrasound with three probes and specialist cardiology hookups, latest-generation Mindray anaesthesia machines with ventilators and uMEC 12 monitors, iM3 CR7 dental X-ray and iM3 dental units, endo/laparoscopy kits with rigid scopes, 10+ in-house lab analysers running 70+ tests, and HTVista scanners for soft-tissue assessment.
