1:7 weekend rota at Ware hospital, supporting consultations 9 amâ2 pm, with time off in lieu (TOIL)
About the Role
You'll be joining Walton Lodge Ware's dedicated nursing team as a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse, delivering high-quality clinical care in a modern, well-equipped primary care environment. This role offers genuine variety: you'll support a collaborative team of veterinary surgeons across first opinion cases, manage inpatient care, run nurse consultations, and get hands-on with advanced diagnostic equipment including digital X-ray, colour Doppler ultrasound, digital endoscopy, and advanced dental systems.
The practice has a strong orthopaedic caseload and partnerships with virtual veterinary specialists, meaning you'll be exposed to complex, rewarding cases that support your ongoing development. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor and support two Student Veterinary Nurses who are currently progressing towards qualificationâif you're interested in the teaching side of nursing, this is a genuine strength of the role.
Flexible shifts are available: typically 40 hours per week across either 4 or 5 days, working between 7:30 amâ7:30 pm (with 30 minutes unpaid lunch). The weekend rota is light at 1:7, covering consults at the Ware hospital between 9 amâ2 pm with time off in lieu (TOIL)âvery manageable compared to many practices.
