Imagine working in the heart of the Surrey Hills, surrounded by countryside and characterful market towns. You'll spend most of your time at the Godalming practice, a beautifully refurbished clinic with excellent facilities, with occasional support across three other branches to keep your week varied. This role is built around genuine flexibility: a four-day working week with shift patterns you can shape within 8:30am to 6:30pm opening hours. You'll take part in a Saturday rota of 1 in 4 (8am to 12pm only) with no out-of-hours requirements whatsoever. Whether your interests lean towards surgery, medicine, or both, you'll have genuine career progression pathways and the chance to build confidence in the cases you want to develop.
Godalming itself is a thriving, picturesque town with excellent shops, cafes, pubs, and scenic walks. You're just moments from the train station with direct access to London in under an hour.
Waverley Vets is a well-established, family-run small animal practice now operating across four locations: Godalming, Farnham, Chiddingfold, and Beacon Hill. Since opening in 1997, the practice has built a reputation for quality care and excellent facilities. The Godalming location has recently undergone full refurbishment and is exceptionally well equipped with a dedicated cat ward, upstairs theatre, new main theatre, modern dental equipment with dedicated digital x-ray room, and in-house blood testing laboratory. The practice works closely with excellent referral centres and peripatetic surgeons, giving vets the opportunity to stay involved in complex cases. Out-of-hours emergency cover is provided by Vets Now (based in Farnham and Guildford). The team is proud of its stability and collaborative culture, with many staff members having worked there for years. Nursing clinics run by qualified veterinary nurses include puppy parties, weight loss clinics, and geriatric clinics.
