This is a dedicated night nursing position at Wirral Pet 999, the only independent out-of-hours clinic serving Wirral and Chester. You'll work 7 nights on, 14 nights off (7:30 pm to 8:30 am), at 0.75 FTE, combining emergency caseload management with ongoing inpatient care from GP and referral patients. The role sits within a multi-disciplinary, RCVS-accredited referral hospital setting, working closely with experienced ECC veterinary surgeons and with full referral clinician backup available.
You'll typically manage between 5 and 15 inpatients per night, with access to referral-level equipment and diagnostics including CT scanning, endoscopy, ultrasound, extensive in-house laboratory facilities, drip pumps, syringe drivers, and on-site transfusion products. The clinic participates in the Blood Sharing Scheme and handles all emergency calls locally with on-site daytime administrative support, allowing the night team to focus entirely on patient care. Where appropriate, home visits are accommodated as part of compassionate emergency care.
Based on the Wirral Peninsula with easy access to Liverpool and Manchester, this is a sustainable night role grounded in independent values and genuinely rewarding clinical work.
