1:4 weekend rota (Saturdays or Sundays), shifts 7:30am–8:30pm. Weekday shifts also 7:30am–8:30pm.

About the Role

Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists is seeking a Multidisciplinary Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its close-knit nursing team in Winchester. This part-time permanent position offers 24 hours per week across three weekdays (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) plus a 1:4 weekend rota, with shifts running 7:30am–8:30pm. You’ll work as a true multidisciplinary nurse, rotating across the practice’s specialist departments and providing essential care that keeps this leading referral hospital running smoothly.

Set in a serene countryside location, the practice boasts state-of-the-art facilities and operates 24/7 to care for small animal patients. You’ll be supported by a wonderful team including a proactive Patient Care Assistant team and the wider nursing group—this is a genuinely collaborative environment where you’re never working in isolation.

No two days are the same. Your breadth of nursing skills will be called upon across orthopaedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, neurology, internal medicine, dentistry, cardiology, anaesthesia, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, oncology, physiotherapy, ophthalmology, and pain clinic work. This breadth of experience is invaluable for your professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care across multiple specialist wards—canine, feline, isolation, and high-dependency units
  • Support anaesthesia teams during surgical procedures
  • Assist across all clinical disciplines including surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, and oncology
  • Deliver exceptional care to pets and clear communication with pet owners
  • Work proactively as part of the nursing team to ensure seamless hospital operations
  • Support diagnostic imaging and specialist procedures as needed

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
  • Proven experience working in a similar RVN role
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Proactive ‘can do’ attitude and flexibility
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
