About the Role

Animed Veterinary Centre is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its team at the sunny Whitstable location. This is a part-time position working 30 hours per week (salary £28,500 FTE) on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with working hours between 8am–7pm Monday to Friday (days flexible) plus a 1:4 share of weekend rotas on Saturdays only. You’ll rotate between the main site and branch location depending on the rota schedule.

The practice actively encourages nurses to work to their full potential, recognizing the vital contribution nursing brings to clinical outcomes, client relationships, and patient care. Within this role, you’ll have the opportunity to run and promote your own nurse-led consultations as well as perform Schedule 3 procedures, ensuring quality care is maintained across both sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional, compassionate care to patients and provide reassurance to their owners at every interaction
  • Support clinical outcomes across all aspects of veterinary work as part of a collaborative team
  • Conduct nurse-led consultations and perform Schedule 3 procedures within your scope of practice
  • Maintain practice standards and ensure the facility is kept in excellent condition to support optimal patient care
  • Take responsibility for your own continued learning and development, making full use of CVS training and practice opportunities
  • Contribute to a positive, welcoming team culture that prioritizes colleague support and open communication
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with colleagues, clients, and pets to build strong working relationships

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Commitment to maintaining and improving professional practice standards
  • Willingness to develop and grow within a supportive training practice environment
