Head Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This is a full-time Head Nurse position spanning two busy first-opinion practices in Mobberley and Northwich, where you’ll take the reins of nursing leadership. You’ll champion nurse-led clinics and consultations, manage day-to-day operations, mentor student nurses, and be the go-to person for your nursing team. It’s a role that suits experienced RVNs ready to step up, or Senior/Lead Nurses seeking better work-life balance without losing the challenge.

The practice offers a varied caseload with no two days the same, underpinned by a collaborative culture where passionate vets, RVNs, and support staff work together with genuine care for patients and clients. Based at Town Lane in Mobberley with a sister site in Northwich, you’ll be part of a caring, professional team committed to the highest standards of animal care.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the nursing team, including SVNs, with a positive and motivating style
• Advocate for and drive nurse-led consultations and clinics
• Manage smooth day-to-day running of nursing operations across both sites
• Serve as the primary point of contact and support for the nursing team
• Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment
• Support professional development of junior nursing staff

Requirements

• Current RVN registration
• Excellent communication and patient/client care skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
• Leadership experience or demonstrated readiness to take on leadership responsibility
• Reliability and ambition to drive nursing excellence
• Ability to lead with a positive and motivating approach
