No out-of-hours shifts, no Sunday work, no bank holiday cover. One Saturday morning approximately every six weeks (8am–12:30pm), paid on top of salary or as TOIL. VetsNow provides emergency coverage.

About the Role

You’ll join Arundell Vets’ experienced nursing team across two sites in Kirk Sandall and Carcroft, working a mix of consulting, hospital, prep, and theatre shifts tailored to your preferences and strengths. This is a rare opportunity: full-time hours (38 hours over 4 days) with the genuine promise of no out-of-hours shifts, no Sunday work, and no bank holiday cover – VetsNow handle emergency provision, so in-patients stay on-site.

One Saturday morning per six weeks (8am–12:30pm) is the only weekend commitment, and that time is either paid on top of salary or given as TOIL. The practice has earned a well-deserved reputation for stellar work-life balance, and they’re serious about it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care across hospital, consulting, prep, and theatre environments at two connected sites
  • Support a team with expertise in surgery, medicine, diagnostic imaging, and anaesthesia & analgesia
  • Contribute to varied caseload including orthopaedic surgery and laparoscopy procedures
  • Work to the highest standards of patient care and client service in a hospital-standard facility
  • Develop skills through continued training and certificate qualifications (fully supported)

Requirements

  • Currently registered with the RCVS as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Commitment to high-standard patient care and continuous professional development
  • Flexibility to work shifts including one Saturday morning per six weeks
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, supportive team environment

About the Practice

Arundell Vets has been serving Doncaster and the surrounding area since 2006 as a dedicated family veterinary practice. The Kirk Sandall site is hospital-standard with laparoscopic equipment, digital dental X-ray, and vets performing advanced procedures including laparoscopy and orthopaedic surgery. The practice is a nurse training facility with two sites, creating a varied and stimulating caseload.
