Practice Owner – Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to become a practice owner with a structured, supportive ownership model designed to make veterinary entrepreneurship achievable. You’ll be establishing a brand-new small animal practice in Ashby de la Zouch, a charming market town in Leicestershire, conveniently positioned between Leicester, Birmingham and Nottingham. The practice will operate within an existing Pet Care Centre, giving you immediate access to a stream of potential clients and new pet owners.

As owner, you’ll have full clinical and operational autonomy—setting protocols, managing client relationships, building your team culture, and running the business entirely your way. You’ll take a salary from day one, earn 100% of future profits, and benefit from twice-annual dividend payments once loans are repaid. You’ll work full-time building this practice from the ground up, with support from a network of fellow practice owners and dedicated business services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead clinical operations and build your team culture from day one
• Manage client relationships and develop the practice’s reputation within the local community
• Make all clinical and surgical decisions independently, with no corporate direction
• Drive business growth and profitability of your own practice

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon (MRCVS)
• Proven clinical experience in small animal practice
• Ambition and drive to build and own your own business
• Entrepreneurial mindset with willingness to take on business ownership responsibility
• Ability to recruit, manage and develop a team

About the Practice

Ashby-de-la-Zouch Vets is a new venture operating under an innovative practice ownership model designed to support ambitious veterinary surgeons in establishing their own businesses. The model combines clinical freedom with genuine business support—you own and control the practice, while the partnership provides expert guidance, brand recognition, financial support, and comprehensive back-office services including HR, IT, marketing and payroll management.

The practice will be located in a modern Pet Care Centre in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, and will feature three consult rooms, a dedicated theatre, X-ray and laboratory facilities, separate cat and dog wards with isolation capabilities, and a fully branded reception area. This is positioned as the start of your veterinary career as a business owner, with full autonomy to define your clinical direction and practice culture.
