Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This part-time position offers a refreshing change of pace. You’ll work Thursdays and Fridays (17.5 hours per week) in a calm, well-established practice where continuity matters—most of the team and client base have been with the branch for years. The role blends nursing consults, surgical assistance, and general practice operations in an environment that genuinely values clinical standards without the pressure of constant turnover.

You’ll have the option to pick up Saturday morning shifts at the nearby Heathcote branch on a 1-in-6 rota basis if you want extra hours, and out-of-hours work is generously compensated on top of your base salary, giving you real flexibility to choose nights or weekends around your life.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct morning nurse consultations and triage
• Prepare surgical areas and assist with daily pre-operative procedures
• Support veterinary surgeons during consultations and surgical procedures, including anaesthetic monitoring
• Provide hands-on inpatient and outpatient care with compassion and attention to detail
• Contribute to general practice management: diary scheduling, stock control, compliance documentation, and operational efficiency
• Work collaboratively with the nursing team and patient care assistants to maintain the practice’s reputation for clinical excellence

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
• Strong clinical nursing skills and hands-on experience
• Proactive attitude with genuine passion for patient care
• Ability to support day-to-day branch operations and work as part of a small, close-knit team
