  • Contributing to a supportive, collaborative team culture

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
  • Confidence and experience in small animal nursing
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team

Benefits

  • Leave & Work-Life Balance: 6.8 weeks annual leave, your birthday as a paid day off, flexible hours (full-time or part-time considered), 1 in 4 Saturday mornings only, no out-of-hours work
  • Wellbeing Support: Private medical insurance, enhanced family-friendly policies (maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental and surrogacy pay), Cycle to Work scheme, non-accidental injury support, employee wellbeing initiatives

About the Practice

Boyce & Houston Vets was established in 1990 and has been serving the small animal pet-owning communities of Clydebank for over three decades. In January 2019, the practice relocated to refurbished, modern premises offering a comfortable working environment. The facility includes two operating theatres, five consultation rooms, separate cat and dog wards, an isolation walk-in kennel, multiparameter monitoring, new ultrasonography equipment, digital X-ray technology enhanced with AI diagnostic support, and in-house laboratory facilities. The practice recently achieved RCVS General Practice accreditation.

The team comprises 7 vets, 3 nurses, 1 head nurse, 1 animal care assistant, and 5 receptionists. The practice is known for its low staff turnover, warm and friendly atmosphere, and genuine support for all team members from clinical to support staff. Social events and charity fundraising (including annual cycling challenges for Flutterby/Cystic Fibrosis, the Doddie Weir Walk, Street Vet support, and Christmas collections for homeless shelters) are central to team culture. The Clinical Director is highly supportive and actively recognises the vital contribution of every team member.
