Looking for a small animal role with variety, clinical backing and no OOH? This could suit a confident vet who wants autonomy, support and a genuinely manageable rota.
No OOH or on-call. Weekends are shared on a 3:7 rota, pro-rata for part-time.
You’ll be joining a thriving three-site small animal practice serving High Wycombe, Hazlemere and Watlington. The role is mainly split between High Wycombe and your nearest branch, with occasional cover across all sites.
This is a full-time, 40-hour position over four days, with start times of 8am to 8.30am and finishes between 6pm and 7pm. Part-time applications are welcome. Weekends are shared on a 3:7 rota, pro-rata for part-time, and as a Vets Now host practice there is no OOH or on-call.
The caseload includes cats, dogs, rabbits and small furries, with a slight consult bias. Surgical work covers routine procedures, broad first-opinion cases and occasional ECC cases. There is also scope for vets with an interest in orthopaedics, and the in-house setup supports thorough case work-ups and continuity of care.
Crossroads Veterinary Centre is an established small animal practice, founded in 1958, and it holds General Practice accreditation from the RCVS Practice Standard Scheme. It is part of inspiring vet care, described as the UK’s number one vet care provider, caring for over 2 million animals.
The main High Wycombe site is a spacious, modern practice with separate cat and dog waiting areas, four consult rooms, three prep areas, a theatre with two operating tables, an ultrasound suite, an IDEXX lab and staff facilities including a wellbeing room and kitchen. The team includes 8 vets, 7 RVNs, 2 SVNs and 2 PCAs, supported by reception, admin and management colleagues, with certificate holders in Surgery and Veterinary Business Management.
