About the Role
As an Employee Relations Advisor with CVS Group, you'll be the first line of support for HR and ER queries across one of the UK's largest integrated veterinary services providers. This is a full-time, remote-working permanent position that combines tactical HR support with strategic people leadership.
You'll provide telephone and email specialist support to business leaders, acting as a trusted advisor on employment matters. Your role bridges front-line coaching with formal case management, helping leaders develop their capability to handle ER and HR issues independently whilst maintaining consistency and fairness across the entire group.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver first-line support for all ER and HR queries via telephone and email to business leaders across the group
- Manage informal ER caseload and some formal cases as required, working alongside the ER Team Lead (Advisory) and ER Specialist Team
- Provide expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and terms and conditions of employment across all business areas
- Coach and empower line managers through challenging situations including probation, performance management, absence management, flexible working, and occupational health matters
- Deliver internal training on HR and ER processes and policy updates in conjunction with the ER Team Lead
- Act as a point of contact for team members across the group, offering support and signposting to available resources
- Support business change and restructure initiatives where required
Requirements
- CIPD Qualification Level 5 or above, or actively working towards it with previous advisory role experience
- Significant experience in business change and restructure initiatives
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment legislation
- Proven ER and HR experience with thorough understanding of employment policies and procedures
- Strong advisory and influencing skills with the ability to challenge at all levels
- High attention to detail and analytical capability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in conflict resolution and coaching managers
- Knowledge of Republic of Ireland employment legislation is advantageous
