About the Role

Inspiring Vet Care is recruiting a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join Paxton Vets, a well-established practice serving South London for over 50 years. You'll work full-time across five days with a manageable 1 in 5 Saturday rota (8:30am to 5:45pm with time off in lieu), embedded in a clinical team of five nurses supported by a Head Nurse, Practice Manager, and seven veterinary surgeons.

The practice spans two clinics located either side of Crystal Palace, both offering identical equipment and standards of care. You'll encounter a diverse caseload across medical and surgical cases, developing confidence in varied clinical nursing scenarios within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing clinical nursing care across first opinion cases, both surgical and medical
• Assisting veterinary surgeons in theatre and during consultations
• Managing inpatient care for both medical and surgical patients
• Conducting nurse consultations and contributing to clinical standards
• Supporting patient admission and discharge processes
• Collaborating with the wider practice team to enhance patient outcomes

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills with ability to manage workload effectively
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement

About the Practice

Paxton Vets operates two clinics in South London as part of Inspiring Vet Care, the UK's leading vet care provider trusted with the care of over 2 million animals. Both sites have been established for over 50 years and are well known locally. The practice is equipped with digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, multiparameter monitors, in-house IDEXX lab machines (haematology, biochemistry, electrolytes, sedivue urinalysis), Tonopen, ECG, blood pressure monitors, pulse oximetry, and basic orthopaedic kit.
