Receptionist

About the Role

You'll be the welcoming face of Market Hall Vets, handling everything from scheduling appointments and managing client inquiries to processing payments and dispensing medications. This is a full-time, permanent position working 35 hours per week on a 4-day schedule with 1 in 4 Saturday cover. Based at Market Hall Vets in St Clears and Killgetty, you'll be part of a friendly, supportive team dedicated to exceptional customer service.

As a receptionist in a small animal practice, you'll develop strong relationships with clients during both routine visits and emotionally sensitive times, providing empathy and professionalism in equal measure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently
• Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with professionalism
• Process and manage insurance forms accurately
• Dispense medications as required
• Process financial transactions and payments
• Maintain patient records using the in-house system
• Liaise with other practices to address patient needs
• Handle debt recovery and refund management where necessary
• Provide emotional support to clients during distressing situations while maintaining professionalism

Requirements

• Previous experience as a receptionist (essential)
• Experience in a veterinary setting (desirable)
• Resilience and ability to handle emotional situations with grace
• Strong communication skills and genuine empathy
• Outstanding customer service experience
• Positive attitude and superior teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
