About the Role

Haygate Vets, Wellington is recruiting a Registered Veterinary Nurse for a fixed term contract until December 2027. The role is full time at 40 hours across 4 or 5 days, with a 1 in 5 Saturday rota and no out of hours.

This is a chance to join a busy, well-established small animal practice in the large market town of Wellington, mid-Shropshire. The practice offers a flexible rota, including the option of 4 days one week and 5 the next, plus the support of an established team and a training practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support patient care across clinical work as part of the nursing team.
• Help monitor patients' health and support recovery.
• Provide reassurance and communication for clients and their pets.
• Contribute to a positive, friendly and supportive team culture.
• Use your communication skills to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients and pets.
• Support student nurses and take part in Schedule 3 procedures where appropriate.

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse status.
• A dedicated approach to delivering exceptional care to patients and owners.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• A willingness to learn, develop and grow with ongoing training.
• A positive approach to working within a collaborative team.

About the Practice

Haygate Vets, Wellington is a busy, well-established small animal practice with a passionate team of vets, nurses, VCAs and receptionists. It is described as a training practice and supports nurses in Schedule 3 procedures and in supporting student nurses.

The practice has a newly installed CT machine, lap kit, high-spec lab equipment, multiparameter monitoring, oscillometric blood pressure machines, digital x-ray, dental x-ray and ultrasound. It also has separate nurse consult rooms, wards and theatres.
